Karmic Intent
Despite our level of awareness, we invariably reap rewards for our actions
Karmic retribution is not all that is demanded of us in payment for our transgressions and misalignments if we are to make the lasting changes that will elevate our consciousness.
Despite our level of awareness, we invariably and aptly reap rewards for our actions, are given ample opportunities to learn from our mistakes, or pay forward the blessings we receive for right action and acts of kindness. But despite balancing the scales to equalize the energy of our actions and wipe the slate clean, the karmic intention is also to access the seeds of conscious awareness, planted in the fertile landscape of recently tilled fields.
However, should we continually repeat patterns of behavior expecting different results, it is likely we will experience harsher and more frequent lessons, demonstrating not only the flaws in our logic, but the necessity to choose otherwise.
The epiphanies of karmic insight, born of challenging circumstances and our responses to them, entail shifts of perspective perhaps not considered before, capable of lifting the karmic burden and altering our course forward, despite demands on our time and resources.
That which we hide from others are secrets that we keep tucked away until they can no longer be contained; that which we hide from ourselves creates circumstances to capture our attention, intent on the truth finding its way home…

I agree, Nancy, that if we miss or ignore the opportunities presented by karmic situations we will get another opportunity that might be more directly obvious. But I hesitate to associate any karmic situation with "retribution" since that implies punishment for mistakes rather than learning from them.
